Booked my ticket to the ECMA awards! I will be attending the ECMA Awards in Moncton this year to be presented on Apr.16th, 2012. This will follow a week of workshops and showcases. I was originally planning to just come out for the awards but I will also be shooting a project in the area (Sackville) so I think I will be out for the entire awards week now. Hope to see you all there!

ECMA Video of the Year Nomination!
I am very happy to announce that I have been nominated for an ECMA award for producing and directing the music video for David Myles’s ‘Simple Pleasures’. What begun as a spur of the moment decision to film a video has turned into quite a little event. David and I are so happy that this video has proven popular and been enjoyed by so many people. It was a true labour of love and we had a great time making it for you all. We are very proud to be nominated alongside such great artists as Classified, Hey Rosetta!, the Trews, and Jimmy Rankin. The ECMA (East Coast Music Awards - http://www.ecma.ca/ ) will be presented on April 15th, 2012 in Moncton, NB, preceded by a week of workshops, panels, and showcases. I will be attending alongside David and we hope to see anyone that can make it. I’ve heard that it is a great time. This is a fan voted prize as well so in the upcoming weeks we will asking our supporters to vote for this award as the process gets announced. We hope to have your support when this happens. Thanks again to everyone that helped us make the video and watched it on youtube (we’re close to 30,000 views). Here it is again for those of you that have not seen it before.

New Sony Ads
Here is a new ad that I shot for SONY of Canada recently. Built in a studio down in the Distillery in Toronto, this set allowed us to shoot a motion commercial for the internet as well as the print campaign at the same time. Set build and shoot was started and finished in one long day. We are still in post on the commercial so stay tuned.

Art of Flight - Red Bull
‘Art of Flight’ is a new snowboarding film from the crew at Red Bull and Brain Farm. Using cutting edge tech to get some of the most amazing shots and with the financial clout of Red Bull, this team pulls off some amazing visuals and style in this epic adventure. The star is Travis Rice, considered to be one of the best snowboarders currently riding. He never hesitates to hit the biggest and baddest jumps around. I shot an interview with Travis and Bjorn Leines for the www.snogirls.blogspot.com site on Oct. 13 in Toronto when they came through town to promote the presentation of the movie. The movie is amazing, more for the cinematography than anything (also an amazing soundtrack from M83).

Bangalore, India
23/09/11 17:40
Just returned from Bangalore, India. We were shooting some amazing portraits of cancer patients and survivors for the HCG group of hospitals. Some truly inspirational stories and just great people. It was a short but beautiful introduction to India for me and I’m so looking forward to heading back. We also picked up some video which we hope we will be able to make into some short vignettes of these stories. Check in our new section for some out takes of shots from this campaign. As for now here is a shot of the very special flower market there.
